Hello fellow bloggers, friends, and lovers of all things Disney. This is my FIRST EVER blog post and as I type I've noticed that my fingers are sweaty (woohoo!) Okay so most know by this point that very soon my sister and I will be driving our butts and way too many clothes and belongings to Orlando, Florida to go to work at the Walt Disney World Resort for seven months. Words can not even begin to express how excited and nervous I am to actually go and live at the most "magical place on Earth!" In fact it feels almost surreal that very soon I'll be at this park that I've dreamed about and have always wanted to visit.
So, to fill everyone in on this program and what I'll be doing, here's a quick run down:
The Disney College Program was created years ago to give college students the unique internship experience to live, work, learn, and earn at this amazing park. If accepted, the student goes to the park that they applied for, lives in the apartments provided and works as a "cast member" in the location they were selected for. The application is first a web-based interview and then a scheduled phone interview. After that, the waiting begins...I waited about four weeks to finally hear back from Disney to say that I made it. I was so ecstatic to see that purple folder in the mail!!

I applied for a few positions and was selected for the Costuming role. I'll be mostly working "backstage" helping out with costumes of fellow cast members, aiding the performers with their costumes, as well as other tasks as needed while working. At first, I'll admit I was a little bummed when I found out that I would have minimal to no guest interaction, but I'm still so excited to get to work with the other costuming cast members like myself and the performers.
This past Sunday, my family held a graduation/send off party for my sisters and I to celebrate. We called it a celebration of, "Two Endings and Two Beginnings." We had a feast-full of food, lots of laughing, and plenty of Disney music along with a few close family and friends. The turn-out was great and check out this super awesome cake that Jordyn made:

To close, my mom just showed me an inspirational quote that she printed just about a year before my graduation, which by the way, past by so fast it still hasn't even really sunk in! But it was a really nice quote so Mom, this is for you!
"Effort only fully releases its reward after a person refuses to quit." -Napoleon Hill
It hasn't always been easy to get to this point in my life but thank God I did and thank God for all the incredibly strong and supportive people I had that help me get there!!
