Coba- Too Smart for Strangers with Winnie The Pooh (Part 1)

Posted by Coba:

In light of the recent release of Winnie the Pooh, I had to search and find this video. Jordyn and I had this recording when we were kids but we watched it often. Its five parts and the songs are kinda catchy, "Don't be fooled by Tricks!" Anywayz...just had to share!!

Coba- Wizards, Star Wars, and Disney Magic

Posted by Coba:

Been awhile since I've posted so this one might be a little lengthy but sooo much has happened!!

To start, the release of the final Harry Potter movie. Of course this isn't Disney, but its essential to talk about it...and we saw the movie on Disney property so it still counts. Jordyn, roommate Christine and I actually bought out tickets in June and the excitement had been mounting since. So the day before I actually had to work till 11pm but Jordyn got off earlier so she saved me and Christine seats. There was soooo many people there and most were dressed up. For the event we had special Harry Potter themed 3D glasses to watch the movie. So adorable and fun and a great little souvenir. :D

All three of the Harry Potter roomies!!
The movie was an incredible 2 and 1/2 hours long and honestly I cried though most of it. Not just because of the story which is so gut-retching sometimes but because this movie signifies the end of a long relationship with The Boy Who Lived. The end of a friendship that I've been in since I started reading these marvelous books in 6th grade. I honestly can't believe its finished.

To change the subject to another movie release, Jordyn and I watched Winnie the Pooh and it beyond exceeded my expectations. Though only about an hour, it adorable, full of heart, and incredibly funny!! Very very impressed. I've had this idea for a few weeks and seeing this movie just cemented the idea in my mind. I've wanted to do a pair of customized Toms for awhile and I really want to do Winnie the Pooh ones! They are going to be so cute!!

So back to work...I'm training again!! This time its another show and its called Jedi Training Academy its a cute little show that pulls 15 young kids up on stage and "trains" them to be young jedi. The cast is a lot smaller than the Indiana Jones show and is more intimate as well. I get to hang out with a Jedi Master, Storm troopers and the man himself: Darth Vader.

Because I've been working on this show I've got a chance to talk to more characters and I'm starting to really enjoy hearing about the certain things that the characters get to do in the park. It goes so much further than being friends with a character and putting on a costume. Its bringing a character to life. I enjoy what I'm doing, but I still can't help but feel a little stuck with my role, its not where I see myself; I want to do more with the MAGIC that is Disney, I want to make Dreams come true. That's what this place is all about and that's why I came here.

Coba-Fireworks and Working with Characters

Posted by Coba:

Hello All!!!

I started my training for the Character Room and its kinda fun. All I heard was not so positive comments about working there...all this gossip and rumors and such, but I refused to believe it till I started working there.  I will say that its not quite as fun as working Indiana Jones but the "secret" to working there is staying busy and double checking your work; to explain: if you finish your work early, you're left with nothing to do or if a costume you set has problems or issues, you could be in trouble for it.

The rain has continued to pour over here the past couple days, even for multiple hours at a time...I swear it has rained more here in a day then Texas ever got in a year. Its tough staying dry out here....

4th of July here was a blast!!! I had to work that day but since I was done at 3pm, I decided to meet up with some friends and see fireworks at Epcot. We waited in our spot for over two hours but we had a pretty sweet spot.  While waiting we meet this adorable family and their three kids. They were so fun to talk to and they asked us a lot of questions about the park and about being cast members. They thanked us for the attention we gave to their kids and I got to wish them a "magical night!!" The fireworks were incredible literally made you have to lean back because of how many were being set off.

Happy 4th!!!

Fireworks!!

That's all for now, continue checking this page and Facebook for more pictures about all the fun adventures Jordyn and I are having, especially this next Monday were we finally have our first day off together since we've been here!!

Coba- Fire!! and Coloring Books

Posted by Coba:

Okay so forget all I said about being comfortable in my role...next week I will be learning a completely new list of responsibilities in a whole new location. Its the character room, called: "The Show Must Go On" cute huh?? I've really heard not too many positive things about it, but I'm gonna wait to see for myself before I pass judgements (let's see if I can use my positivity to make the best of it!) Anyways, in "The Show Must Go On" my responsibilities will be getting the characters ready to go out "on stage" to meet the guests. Doing Mickey's and the gang's laundry, making sure they are all put together and looking fabulous and doing other things to keep them and their "friends" happy. Though I don't think it will be as exciting as working Indiana Jones, I am excited for a new experience and for an opportunity to meet more characters. :D

So Jordyn and I found our inner child today and bought Disney coloring books, colored pencils, Disney stickers, and Disney postcards for a little "good clean fun" I love moments where I can totally feel like a kid again and not care about what someone else thinks of it! And I'm excited to color how fun is that?!?!

FUN!!!

So while we were coloring: (Jorydn and a Snow White princess pic and me a Gnomeo and Juliet pic) the fire alarm in our entire building goes off! It was super, duper, a-mazingly loud and we had to stand outside for like 15-20 minutes...never found out what happened though given previous experience with many a dorm room (residence hall) I'd bet money on burnt popcorn...

I know tonight's a little short, but it was news I just had to share....

Seemed fitting with all the rain we've been getting!!
